Torrid’s House of Dreams Model Search Event at FIDM

Torrid, the trendy destination for plus size fashions, held their House of Dreams Model Search On the Park at FIDM Los Angeles!

The seven lucky winners of Torrid’s House of Dreams Model Search came to L.A. from all over the country for a VIP experience that culminated with a runway event. “I’m just hoping I don’t trip since I’ve never worn heels this high!” reported Heather of North Pole, Arkansas. Fellow winner Nikki, from Northridge, California added, “I’m so flattered and the fact that I can represent as a size 20 is just such an honor.”

The event drew hundreds of guests including David Hasseloff and daughter Hayley, Carnie Wilson, comedian Loni Love, emcee Whitney Thompson from America’s Next Top Model, and Brooke Hogan, who performed for an appreciative crowd.

Model Taylor of Dewitt, Michigan said, “It’s been really exciting. It’s definitely a bonding experience for all of the girls and we all get along really well.” In addition to hair and makeup, the models got walking tips from Whitney and had a team of stylists making sure they looked haute!

The models rocked the runway while showing off Torrid’s latest designs. Torrid also enlisted FIDM Fashion Design Students to design couture creations for the model winners to wear. These beautiful gowns will be auctioned off to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation! Now that’s a fashionable cause!
