Japanese street fashion can be described as outrageous, bold, colorful, or eccentric, but it could never be considered boring! Spend a day in the Harajuku district and you’re likely to see girls dressed up to resemble babydolls, men and women layered in a mélange of wildly colorful patterns, out-of-this-world hairstyles dyed every color under the sun, and tennis shoes with four inch platforms. It’s anything goes in Japan! |

Japanese artist Takashi Murakami, whose current exhibition can be seen at L.A.’s Museum of Contemporary Art, has taken the world of Neo-pop art to new levels. In addition to his many paintings and sculptures, and the many characters he’s illustrated, the artist also did the cover work for hip hop artist Kanye West’s latest album plus he animated a video for the song “Good Morning.” Plus he’s designed a best-selling collection of bags for Louis Vuitton—proving that art, fashion, and music are all entwined under one umbrella.
