Three Sweet Shoppes We Love
We’ll admit it, our affection for fashion is rivaled only by our fondness for dessert. How fitting that some of our favorite treats come from shops that combine sweetness with style!
New York-based Dylan’s Candy Bar was founded by Dylan Lauren, daughter of fashion designer Ralph Lauren, making it one of the hautest sweet shops we’ve ever seen.
The colorful candyland offers everything from licorice to lollipops (and tons of mouth-watering chocolates!), plus a sweet bath and beauty line, which features calorie-free treats like Ice Cream Sugar Scrubs, Soda Pop Shower Gels, and Candy Butter Creams in Chocolate Cupcake, Coconut Bonbon, and Birthday Cake Batter!
Manhattan’s stylish Serendipity 3 serves up ultra-luxe eats like the Chicken Diva, High Heel Pump Sandwich, and Caviar Burger, but it’s their sinfully-rich desserts that keep stars like Cameron Diaz, Salma Hayek, and Kate Hudson coming back for more.
Try the world-famous Frrrozen Hot Chocolate (original or peanut butter), “Big Apple” Pie, and Creme de la Creme Cream Cheese Cake, but save your nickels if you want to treat yourself to a Guinness World Record Golden Opulence Sundae—it’s topped with edible 23K gold, Amedei Porceleana chocolate (the world’s most expensive), and other high-end goodies that bring the cost up to a whopping $1,000!
Tucked away on LA’s trendy Abbot Kinney Blvd., Jin Patisserie Pastry Boutique & Tea Garden is whipping up confections that are almost too pretty to eat (but that won’t stop us!).
Featured in everything from fashion magazines like Lucky and InStyle, to foodie publications Bon Appétit and Food & Wine, this little shop serves afternoon tea all day long and offers couture desserts that are edible works of art. Try caramel bananas with mascarpone cream, white chocolate espresso soup, or lavender-almond cookies.
Whether they sell sweet treats or street clothes, every shop needs a Visual Stylist to make their merchandise even more appealing.
