Graphic Design, Packaging, and Beauty Milestones

In 1907, a French chemist by the name of Eugène Schueller created a hair dye formula under the name Oréal. Now, over a century later, L'Oréal is the world’s largest cosmetics and beauty company, with 23 global brands!

Let’s take a look at the evolution of L'Oréal’s graphic design and packaging, and important beauty milestones
along the way!

1925 - 1933 | 1944 - 1960 | 1985 - FIDM

L'Oréal launched O’Cap, their first foam hair wash, in 1928.
L'Oréal created the first soap-free shampoo in the early 1930s, called Dopal. The design trend on the poster featured the airbrush technique.
