1920s-Inspired Beauty Tips for Prom

You'll be the Cat's Meow when you reinvent the glamour and magnetism of the Roaring '20s with a Gatsby and Daisy-inspired makeover for Prom.

Right on the Kisser

Pucker up and put a mouthwatering berry shade on your lips. First, use a lip pencil to line lips, then fill in with a moisturizing lipstick. Try CoverGirl Outlast Smoothwear Lip Liner in Berry ($7) with mark® Dew Drenched Moisturlicious Lip Color in Juicy ($6). Make it shine with a clear gloss, such as Boots Botanics Lip Gloss in Clear ($8).

Mesmer-EYES

Make your eyes enchanting in soft eye shadow and dramatically dark lashes. Sweep a plum-grey color, such as Stila Eye Shadow Mattes in Batura ($18) on your lids up to the brow bone. Next, line both upper and lower lash lines with a black eyeliner and finish with a coat of black mascara. Lorac Eye Pencil in Black ($16) and L'Oréal Double Extend™ Mascara in Carbon Black ($11) look great together. Finally, shape and tame your eyebrows with a tinted gel, like Benefit Speed Brow Gel ($16).

Face the Music

Finish off your jazzy look with a spritz of makeup setting spray. We love Model in a Bottle® ($18)—It'll give you a stunning matte finish and keep your makeup looking fresh and fabulous (like you just put it on) for hours and hours.

Head Games

Keep your look playful and pretty with a sleek chignon and extravagant hair accessories. Start with hair parted to one side. Use a styling cream, such as Oscar Blandi Tocco Finale Sculpting Pomade ($22), to smooth hair back into a low ponytail, leaving the front of the hair on the parted side loose. After you've pinned the ponytail into a chignon, use a styling wax like Pantene Pro-V Texture Sculpting Wax ($5) to shape the hair you left loose into waves and curls. First, brush the hair down, then use your fingers to twist it up into a curl. Repeat to create as many face-framing curls as you'd like.

Top it off with a dramatic hair clip or headband. We love this Feather Flower HeadbandM ($6) and this Vintage Feminine Beaded Headwrap ($24).
