Lauren Conrad Style
Fashion Designer, Celebrity, Author
Celebrity, fashion designer, and best-selling author—Lauren Conrad is an all-out, all-American fashion icon. Her relaxed, chic
So Cal style is admired by millions, especially all of us here at Fashion Club!
Lauren Conrad got her start in 2004 on hit reality TV show Laguna Beach. From there it was The Hills and the start of her fashion design career and signature Lauren Conrad style. She studied Merchandise Product Development at FIDM (yay!) and launched her first fashion line at LA Fashion Week in 2008. She now designs a clothing line exclusively for Kohl’s called LC Lauren Conrad.
Her Beauty Blog
It doesn’t stop with fashion—she recently teamed up with her hair stylist and makeup artist on a new beauty blog called The Beauty Department, designed by FIDM Grad Bri Emery! Conrad told Allure: "The site will offer beauty tips: how to do the hottest runway tricks. How to wear purple eyeliner. How to do beach curls. The idea is to eventually roll out a cosmetics and hair line."
What She Wears
Looking for signature Lauren Conrad style tips? One of Lauren’s favorite looks is T-shirt and jeans. In her latest book Lauren Conrad Style, she refers to it as the “all-American uniform.” She says, “If you can track down the perfect pair of jeans for your figure and a handful of T-shirts that fit you well, you’ll have made a serious dent in building your ideal wardrobe.”
She knows the beauty of simple sophistication, and is consistently photographed wearing solid colors in feminine silhouettes. She pairs a short (but not too short) gorgeously draped neutral dress with strappy sandals. The snakeskin detail and scalloped leather on the booties really stand out because of the simplicity of the rest of her outfit.
To show off her gorgeous long hair, Lauren Conrad styles her hair straight. But, when she puts it up, her updo hairstyles are amazing! Check out the side sweep low bun. Stunning. Or on the cover of her book—the top knot. Be sure to watch our beauty DIY video to see how you can create this updo hairstyle yourself.
Where She Shops
Lauren told Teen Vogue at her cover shoot last November that she enjoys shopping online but when she has time she loves digging through random boutiques and vintage stores. “That’s where you find your special pieces.” Be sure to watch her interview on laurenconrad.com.
Who Loves Her
Who doesn’t love Lauren Conrad style? Fashion Club President Rachaele Johnson proudly claims Lauren Conrad as her style icon! “LC sets trends—she doesn’t follow them.” We couldn’t agree more!
