Prom Fashion Trends: One-Shoulder Dresses, Rosettes, and Romance
The English countryside is the inspiration for our third theme—a great place to write a love story, don’t you think? Imagine a mansion, gardens, a roaring fire...and a dress that captures the romantic mood of it all!
Floral motifs were all over the spring runways. And it’s a look that isn’t going away anytime soon. Givenchy’s Fall 2011 collection includes a jaw-dropping evening jacket covered in tulle and taffeta rosettes.
One-shoulder garlands are big for prom this year. No need for a corsage. (Just go all out on his boutonniere!) This elegant style is embellished with cascading rhinestone strands to add some sparkle to the cluster of flowers.
Accessories should be kept to a minimum when wearing a dress with this much detailed texture. The dress and train make a gorgeous statement on their own. We styled it with a sweet silver rhinestone bow ring and drop earrings. Of course, strappy sandals with mini-rosettes are the perfect way to punctuate the look!
