This FC President, at Saguaro High School in Arizona, believes fashion can help people find themselves in ways they never imagined.
Tell us a bit about yourself: I am 18 years old, turning 19 in October. I love fashion. I dress in the gothic fashion, which allows me to represent who I am as a person, through my clothing.
“One of my proudest moments ever was being accepted into FIDM for Fashion Design.”
How did you get involved in Fashion Club? I went to a FIDM meeting here in Scottsdale, and Ms. Laura Gorham told me about an amazing opportunity to start my own Fashion Club.
What kinds of activities do you do at your meetings? In my Fashion Club meetings we pay tribute to fashion icons such as David Bowie. We come up with new ways to express ourselves by doing our own DIY clothing. We don’t settle for everyday clothes in my club. We try to make each piece of clothing our own.
What is one of your proudest accomplishments? One of my proudest moments ever was being accepted into FIDM for Fashion Design.
What’s your favorite thing in your closet? My two favorite items in my closet right now are my skeleton corset and my platform boots.
Any upcoming activities? For my club, I want to teach other students how to create their own unique style and looks.
Do you have plans to attend FIDM? Yes! I have been accepted to FIDM. I will be attending Fall 2016. My career goal is to create unique clothing for people, who want to stand out from the crowd. I’m tired of people always hopping on the latest fad train. I believe that everyone has their own unique style and taste, which they need to let shine.
Anything else you’d like to share? I just hope that anyone out there, who is struggling with who they want to be, to know that fashion can help lead people to finding themselves in ways they never imagined.
