This FC President in Oregon is organizing a mummy dress game for her first meeting on November 2!
FC President Kassidy Matthews met us at 3 Days of Fashion in LA over the summer and was also featured in Style+Music. Here’s her latest update! If you’d like to be featured on FashionClub.com, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
It has been a lot of work starting this club at my school but it is up and running now! Our first official meeting for Sam Barlow High School FIDM Fashion Club will be happening next Thursday, November 2. I have 34 people signed up already so it should be a good turn out! We are going to do a meet and greet of all the students who want to be part of Fashion Club.
I plan to show videos from my FIDM Tour, Fashion Week, and The Life Of Fashion, as well as provide snacks and games. I am very excited and I will make sure to take pictures and send them to you with the numbers and minutes of the meeting.
I am hoping we can play the mummy dress game where I bring toilet paper and we can make groups so there can be early bonding between the members. The teams will be timed around other areas of the room/hallway to make a dress. Then we will look at all them, this will keep the girls/boys interacted and laughing!
After this meeting, I will be having a follow up with everyone in the next couple weeks and we can start working on our project. I am not 100% what project we want to do yet; in the past Barlow has done an end of the year fashion show so during the first meeting we will discuss what our goals are for the end of the year. We will also discuss if we want to do a meeting two times a week once a month, or just once a month, etc.
My friend Austin has volunteered to be the Co-President, which is a good fit because he wants to major in design and make a Portland menswear clothing line. With a boy on the board, I think it will bring more males into the loop with FIDM.
My FC Advisor is also the dance team coach, so she’s been swamped because it’s competition season. This is a picture of the board I made for our school hallway!
