Fashion Club Members create custom designs!
La Quinta High School FIDM Fashion Club President Natalie Navarro gives us the scoop on their fun club activity!
I wanted Fashion Club members to be able to customize their own products such as their iPhone cases, laptops, water bottles, etc and give them a personal touch with their own chosen sticker designs. The sticker activity seemed like the best choice considering the time frame we had to make them.
Utilizing a YouTube video from JenerationDIY, I gathered materials which included packaging tape, parchment paper, scissors, and a printed design of choice. The day before the activity, I asked Fashion Club members to message me two designs of their choice so they’d be ready for use the following day. The overall process was both quick and easy!
We made various stickers which all reflected upon each of the Fashion Club member’s personalities. We created stickers that were based off of quotes, had cute/minimalistic illustrations, and even some that had a special meaning or symbolism to the members. Examples include butterflies, plants, skulls, animals, animated characters, the FIDM logo, etc. Pinterest gave us a variety of ideas!
The stickers were all used to customize their personal items. More members attended this meeting as we created many announcements over social media about the activity taking place. There was a total of around 15 members who participated in this activity. A fun DIY I have planned for a future meeting is creating garlands. I also anticipate making DIY scrunchies to sell as a fundraiser for the club.
Becoming Fashion Club President is a huge responsibility, however, it is something I find joy in doing. Organizing meetings and planning fun activities is something I am constantly looking forward to each week. It has been a pleasure working with my awesome advisor and making new friends along the way! The bond that we have created is amazing—we are all constantly contributing ideas to making the Fashion Club a fun environment!
