Get the story from FC Co-Pres Mina Sanders, who BTW got accepted into FIDM and starts this July in Visual Communications!
Our FIDM Fashion Club hosted “A Sky Full of Stars” Prom Fashion Show on February 25th at my high school, Penncrest, in Media, PA. We raised over $10,000 to help fund our AM Prom, some of which was raised in a 30 minute silent auction at intermission! Family and friends attended to preview all the new 2018 prom looks, and I modeled a strapless emerald green, asymmetrical gown with a gold belt as the finishing touch.
Fashion Club members Emily Bruns, Erin Lomas, and Elan Guthrie did the hair and makeup, and the dresses were loaned by David’s Bridal, Nellie by Elizabeth Maar, Occasions Boutique, and many other amazing locations in the Delaware County area.

I have been surrounded by fashion all my life, as my mom is a model on QVC. As a young girl I would look up at the TV screen and watch as my mother graced the stage in the garments or products she was modeling.
I fell in love with FIDM the first time I heard about it—in 10th grade from the Fashion Club at my school. I knew then that I wanted to be President and as my senior year approached, I was elected Co-President. After I attended 3 Days of Fashion last summer, I knew FIDM was my home. I will be majoring in Visual Communications at the FIDM LA Campus, starting on July 9th, 2018.
My career goals are honestly to simply be happy and do what I love. I would love to be a personal stylist for someone or even style photo shoots for specific brands.
Being part of the Fashion Club has introduced me to so many amazing people and opened my eyes to many opportunities. The club helped pave my path to get to FIDM and I am so grateful to be part of such an amazing club and group of girls. The club has also helped me grow as a person and let me interact and meet with different people.
