This Cliffside Park High School FC President was chosen by Adidas to style their Tubular look book.
Semarah Lafi was one of ten Fashion Club Presidents in the New York City area who had the amazing opportunity to work with Adidas this spring to style the Tubular and NMD look book. Hand-picked by Adidas, the FC Presidents were mentored on set by Zanna Roberts Rassi, professional stylist and Senior Fashion Editor at Marie Claire. The look book is available in Adidas stores nationwide. Read on to learn about Semarah Lafi’s experience in her own words.
Working with a stylist on a professional photo shoot was amazing! I want to be a stylist in the future, so this experience was very eye opening for me. I loved how Zanna Roberts Rassi was very helpful and let my vision come to life.
The person who would wear the looks I picked would be very edgy. I feel like they are very carefree and love to make a statement when it comes to what they wear. They are very laid back type of person, but aren’t afraid to play with different textures when it comes to fashion. They most definitely have to be the stylish one in their group of friends!
Being part of FIDM Fashion Club has helped me so much. It has helped me control my anxiety and not overthink things before they even happen. For example, when I got picked for this Adidas opportunity, I’d never thought I would be able to do something like this because of my anxiety.
Fashion Club is really setting me up with some amazing opportunities to help me meet such amazing people who will mentor me so I can go farther in the path that leads to my career.
If I wasn’t part of Fashion Club I would be ten steps farther away from my career goals then I am today. And I have to thank everyone at Fashion Club for helping achieve my goals!
