The students learned what it takes to open a fashion boutique.
Staley High School FIDM Fashion Club President Summer McDaniel tells us about this exciting class project which they promoted on Twitter.
Our teacher and Fashion Club advisor assigned this project in our “FIDM” class—Fashion/Interior Design and Merchandising. Many of the students in our class have expressed interest in entrepreneurship and possibly owning their own store/boutique after they graduate high school. Some are thinking about applying to FIDM.
The project involved a marketing business plan for the dream store design that each student created. While doing this project, we learned that it takes so much work to open a fashion store. We didn’t realize all the detail that goes on behind the scenes as a business owner.
Other than seeing the final product that everyone created, some students enjoyed being able to bring the details in the 3-D design and making it come to life. Others enjoyed the business plan and marketing of their store and/or merchandise.
