Get to know this Cactus Shadows HS Fashion Club Co-Prez!
We caught up with Cactus Shadows High School senior and Fashion Club Co-President Allie Workman to chat about her personal style, the super cool plans she and her Fashion Club have for the upcoming school year, and the songs she’s been jamming to all summer.
I would describe my personal style as alternative, feminine, and modern. I’m inspired by style icons like Rihanna and Zendaya. I also look to famous art and contemporary art. I feel that fashion itself is a form of art, and art should reflect our feelings and current events. My favorite thing to wear is my mesh holographic shirt. It’s mesmerizing to look at and creates a modern and creative look to my outfit.
What I love most about fashion is that anyone can create the season’s iconic looks. I believe that anyone can become a fashion designer; often, we look to high end designers to create styles, but it can also come from ordinary people or small brand owners. I also like how quickly new looks come into style.
Our Fashion Club is really excited about the upcoming school year. We plan on taking clothes from thrift stores and revamping them with embroidery, patches, and other embellishments.
My career goal is to be a biochemist, but I want to include fashion throughout my career and life! Even though I won’t be working in the fashion industry, I plan to continue to express my fashion sense even as I grow older. I plan on staying current with the trends and reflecting what is happening in my life through fashion.
