This Corvallis HS FC Co-founder and President from Oregon just got accepted into FIDM’s Fashion Design program!
If I had to put it into words I would say my style is preppy urban mom—something anybody could wear yet still kind of young and fun. I like to stay with the trends—lately I’ve been wearing a lot of bell sleeves and embroidery. But I do like to mix it up, like something a little harder than what I would normally wear, like I have this pair of biker boots that I absolutely love wearing.
My favorite thing in my wardrobe would have to be my jean jacket. I like how versatile it is and that I can basically wear it any time of the year and it fits with the season. I also like how customizable it is to any day, I like adding safety pins, buttons, and pins.
I love that everybody can find a place in the fashion industry, or something to identify with in the industry, because everybody has their own personal style, whether they are aware of it or not. I also love that it brings all sorts of creative people together, like the jocks (athleisure wear) and the theatre kids (costume design).
This year, my Fashion Club is planning a clothing swap fundraiser, where people would pay an entrance fee and bring in old clothes to trade with other people, at school. We also are planning on having many speakers come and talk to the club. We are arranging dates with somebody who has a history in costume design, and currently works in bridal wear.
My long term goal would be to have my own clothing line, and walk down the runway during one of the bigger fashion weeks. However everybody has to start somewhere and work toward their long term goals such as my own. For my steps to success, I would like to design for a high end design firm where I can express my own, more couture style of design.
