This FC Pres at Jurupa Hills HS is applying for the Junior Advantage Program at FIDM.
One of my goals is to have my own brand of cosmetics and skincare line. When I learned of FIDM and the Beauty Industry Merchandising & Marketing major, I was immediately fascinated with the idea of attending this college. I am now in the process of applying for the Junior Advantage Program. With optimism and perseverance, I will obtain my dream.
I love being creative and organized, and I’m extremely knowledgeable about any process, application, creation, and purpose relating to cosmetics and skincare products. I enjoy experimenting with different mediums of art, and adore bullet journaling since it allows me to be as expressive and organized as I strive to be.
One major plan I have for my Fashion Club next year is doing lesson plans based on FIDM’s 26 professionally based majors. We will do a project centered around the major, exploring what it’s all about.
What I love about fashion is how expressive and integrative it can be. Fashion allows expression by giving people unique styles to relate to. It can also be integrative by bringing together various styles from diverse cultures all over the world. Fashion unites communities, despite social, economic, and political differences.
My personal style is simple—I like a neutral color scheme with a noticeable piece. For example, I’ll wear black jeans, a Calvin Klein jean jacket and a white one piece that has a black trim. My style is based off color schemes along with trends—it has a cohesive but eye-catching manner. I also tend to wear outfits that are comfortable, since I have a busy lifestyle.
My favorite item in my wardrobe is a necklace my grandmother gave to me when I was 12 years old. It’s significant because she gave it to me during a time of need, to remind me that if I’m strong willed and determined, I can achieve anything.
