Power through the season in this red-hot hue!
We know how hard it is to give up those lazy summer days and get back into the groove of school, but there’s one Fall 2017 fashion trend that is sure to help you power through—the color red.
This season, designers (literally dozens of them) had the color of love, fire, and power on their minds as they presented their A/W 2017 collections, from thigh-high boots at Fendi to statement coats at Dolce & Gabbana to completely monochromatic looks at labels like The Row, Victoria Beckham, Comme des Garcons, and Proenza Schouler.

No doubt inspired by the Fall 2017 shows, celebrity stylists have already begun to dress their clients in the season’s hottest color. Model Winnie Harlow slayed on the red carpet in a candy apple red ball gown, and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, was stunning in a fiery red, off-the-shoulder number at a recent celebration.
Plus street style stars, like Jan-Michael Quammie and Patricia Manfield, have taken up the trend, rocking anything from slouchy red sweaters with printed skirts to cherry-colored handbags and polished red blazers.

Want to try the trend?
Red is a bold color, so be prepared to turn a lot of heads when you step out in this eye-catching hue. If you’re feeling yourself and want to make a major statement, take inspiration from the runway shows and go for a head-to-toe, monochromatic look—think a cute red dress or jumpsuit with red boots, or a chunky red sweater with a matching midi skirt or pants.
You can break up a monochromatic look by varying the shades of red, like a few of the looks we saw at Victoria Beckham’s show; some models rocked a candy red bottom with a deeper red top, or vice versa.
Alternatively, you could rock that same red sweater with a pair of jeans (see our last Trendwatch for the coolest jeans of the season) if you’re not into the monochromatic look.
And of course, don’t forget about accessories!
A pair of red shoes, a great bag, even a scarf or sunglasses can be just enough to pull this trend into your favorite fall look.
