Lashing out this season, and look good doing it!
We spotted tons of gorgeous makeup looks on the Fall 2017 runways, but one beauty trend that really stood out this season was the incredible, and sometimes outrageous, lashes designers favored, particularly notable after several seasons of the #browsonfleek trend.
Moschino gave us a lush mod mood with dark upper falsies, while Marni and R13 served up clumpy lashes that actually looked really cool. Besides that, there were Harajuku vibes with the colorful hot pink, electric blue, and even white lashes at Emilio Pucci; faux lashes on the top and bottom at Junya Watanabe, Jeremy Scott, and Tadashi Shoji that mimicked dolls; and heavily mascaraed bottom lashes at Chanel and MSGM.

The lash game is also strong for celebrities, makeup artists, beauty bloggers, and industry influencers as well.
From Instagram stars like Huda Kattan and Ellarie, to red carpet beauties like Rihanna, Cara Delevingne, and Lucy Hale, makeup and beauty experts know that a gorgeous set of lashes can complete a look. We’ve seen them, and just about every other celebrity under the sun, wearing falsies or colored mascara on the red carpet or on Instagram, and we suspect that after seeing the Fall 2017 runway shows, we’ll start to see even more of them rocking over-the-top lash looks.

Want to try the trend?
A lot of the runway looks may not translate for everyday life (but far be it from us to discourage you from gluing lashes to your eyelid creases if that’s what you want to do), but there are still plenty of ways to make your lashes stand out this fall. A volumizing and lengthening mascara, along with an eyelash curler can dramatically change your look, and if you’re more seasoned in the lash game, you can apply falsies to make your natural lashes more lush.
Another way to achieve stand-out lashes—use a colored mascara for an unexpected and playful look. Whether you use traditional black (MAC Haute & Naughty mascara was a favorite backstage at The Blonds and Jeremy Scott) or opt for a fun green, pink, or blue, go all out and apply several coats, like the makeup artists at Emporio Armani. And don’t forget about those bottom lashes—make sure they’re well-coated too!
