FIDM Fashion Club President Bella Interian of California School of the Arts in Pasadena, California shares how she’s staying inspired during the coronavirus pandemic.
How are you personally staying inspired right now? I always like to look at the bright side of every situation. Although I am stuck at home and lost a lot of my senior year, I have been taking this as an opportunity to work hard on my deepest passion: fashion. My main source of inspiration comes from myself as I am always pushing myself to become better and better. My life has not always been easy, however it has taught me how much I can infinitely grow as a person, which I have been taking the steps to do, especially during quarantine.
Do you have any tips for staying connected with fellow members during this challenging time? Most of my best friends live all over the country, so I have spent a lot of time virtually connecting to others even before COVID-19. I love having group FaceTime calls to check in and connect with all of them, and social media is a fun way to connect with them and other people. Staying connected to others and maintaining relationships we have in real life is so important for our mental health, especially during this time.
Are there specific brands or personalities you admire who are showing leadership during this health crisis? I find it so inspiring to see how people are working together during time to fight the virus to the best of our abilities. Tiffany & Co., my favorite jewelry store, has been donating their money to the cause. So many people in the fashion community have been sewing face masks to help themselves and others. It is important that we continue to work together during times like these.
