FIDM Fashion Club President Jeremiah Deleston of Dubiski Career High School shares how he’s staying inspired during the coronavirus pandemic.
How are you personally staying inspired right now? I am personally staying inspired right now by surrounding myself with things that really boost my creativity. I’ve been reading a lot, listening to a lot of my favorite artists, watching fashion shows, and looking at different fashion sketches—Andy Warhol’s are my favorite.
Are there specific brands or personalities you admire who are showing leadership during this health crisis? I really appreciate what Drew Brees, quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, is doing. He’s donating $5M to help get equipment and supplies for hospitals and coronavirus relief in Louisiana. I think what he’s doing is just putting a lot of people at ease in that area, while simultaneously bringing awareness that we need to put all our possible efforts in to reach those in need of help.
Do you have any tips for staying connected with fellow members during this challenging time? Video chat apps are great ways to stay connected with friends and family. Like, right now people want to see each other more than, you know, just texting. Also, right now is a great time to network through social media. FIDM Students are always willing to answer questions on Instagram and give great advice, plus they’re good connections to have.
