How I’m Staying Inspired: Lars Milberger

FIDM fashion club president Lars Milberger

Lars Milberger, FIDM Fashion Club President at Orange County School of the Arts High School in Santa Ana, California, shares how he’s staying inspired during the coronavirus pandemic.

How are you personally staying inspired right now? I am personally staying inspired by talking to my friends over video chat, especially my fellow artists. A group of my friends and I have a Zoom call every week where we create art or sew with a theme. I am also very inspired by the work of other artists and designers that I see on social media. I have done a few art trades with friends where we choose a theme or subject and create something for each other; it gives us something to do and we each get a piece of art in the end!

Are there specific brands or personalities you admire who are showing leadership during this health crisis? During this pandemic, someone I admire is Elton John. I am a huge fan of his music, as well as his fashion, and he has been utilizing his platform and wealth in a very compassionate way during all this, raising millions of dollars for worthy global causes.

Do you have any tips for staying connected during this challenging time? It is very important to stay connected to our creative communities at this time! Art and fashion are healthy outlets to turn to at a time when things are so out of the ordinary. Speaking to friends and fellow creatives through social media, phone calls, and video chats are great ways to stay inspired and connected with one another.
