Sisters Ashley Guereque and Brittany Guereque attended St. Paul High School in Southern California before receiving their A.A. in Visual Communications and B.S. in Business Management from FIDM. The Hollywood stylists recently co-hosted the Styling Workshop at FIDM Fashion Club Day. We caught up with the duo to learn more about their exciting careers and how FIDM helped prepare them for the industry.
You both work in the industry as stylists. What are you best known for?
Brittany: I’ve had many experiences in styling such as live TV, live events, public appearances, e-commerce, red carpet, personal styling, and online styling. I live to experience a new and different day when I wake up for work. Every day for me is such an adventure.
Ashley: We both began our career interning right out of high school at E! News. I began to venture out working at places like the Rachel Zoe Studio and NBCUniversal where I continued to grow at E! Entertainment. I then worked my way up to styling the lovely Giuliana Rancic. I most recently made the switch under the NBC umbrella over to Access Hollywood. My path has been unforgettable and exciting every step of the way and can’t wait to continue!
How did FIDM help prepare you for your careers?
Brittany: FIDM helped prepare me in so many ways! Just mentioning to people I went to FIDM helped me in so many ways. The Business Management program opened up my eyes to the creative side of business and I loved it!
Ashley: FIDM played a huge role in setting us up for success. It opened doors for us to be able to get deep knowledge and understanding of the industry.
How was it co-hosting the Styling Workshop at FIDM Fashion Club Day?
Brittany: All I want to do is give back and show people that anything and all things are possible. Even if it seems out of reach, dream big and don’t think anything else. I think what was so interesting was 10 years ago when I first started, styling was not really much of a thing. I feel like I was a part of the many few that wanted to be a stylist. Going to this event, everyone out there wanted to be a stylist and that was such a cool experience.
Ashley: Amazing! Being able to share our story and help young people see that whatever your heart desires is absolutely attainable was inspiring to us as well. We love paying it forward and giving back. It was done to us and all we can hope for is to continue to pass the message along. It was also kind of fun being front stage instead of being behind the scenes.
