Southridge High School FIDM Fashion Club President Lily Moser gives us the details!

“I actually thought of the idea with my mom. The goal was to try things out of our comfort zone. There were monochromatic outfits in different colors and leather and lace together in one outfit. It was a long list of different ideas, styles, or trend items we had to implement into one outfit.

There were six of us, which allowed us to pair up and take these style challenges and dress each other. I really enjoyed the different looks my club members styled. They were all very unique to who we are as people.

Some of the club had to improvise and put women’s clothes on the boys in my club or wear something three sizes too big. The boys of my group also realize how hard women’s sizing was. They found it was much easier to style for men. We really got a chance to have fun and get to know each other in a different way.

I’m excited to say that we wanted to make our field trips a more common thing. We’d like to visit other resale stores such as Buffalo Exchange, Value Village, and vintage stores such as The Vault in my local area.

I wanted to show my club about reusing and how people give their clothes away and you can buy them for a really good price. The idea of thrift shopping became a much more viable option for them. We actually had some of our members purchase items they loved.”
